Observing the present moment
“Whenever you want to achieve something, keep your eyes open, concentrate and make sure you know exactly what it is you want. No one can hit their target with their eyes closed.” ― Paulo Coelho Today I wanted to see the bigger picture and found it in focusing on the small things, the details and being in the present moment. Just by observing these details my heart opens up and I got the bigger view, I could see and feel the new horizon. It’s like the fog rising into the sky and revealing what it has covered. Observing the small things lets me see things that I otherwise wouldn’t have seen.…

The moon in the branches
“The moon is a loyal companion. It never leaves. It’s always there, watching, steadfast, knowing us in our light and dark moments, changing forever just as we do. Every day it’s a different version of itself. Sometimes weak and wan, sometimes strong and full of light. The moon understands what it means to be human. Uncertain. Alone. Cratered by imperfections.” Tahereh Mafi The branches reach into the sky, they seem to reach for the moon. The seasons are changing, the trees will grow new leaves only to lose them in the next moment, like the moon changes its face through the nights. The branches grow further and further anyway, they…

Drop of connection
This is a text I wrote as a writing prompt from the book:“The very short story starter for creative writing“ by John Gillard. The writing prompt: „Write a stream of consciousness… using the quote below as an initial spark of inspiration.“ „Let the world burn through you. Throw the prism light, white hot, on paper.“ – Ray Bradbury Drop of connection I’m sitting here, starring out of the window and watching how the rain falls, how little rain drops fall onto the leafless branches. It’s grey and cold and I avoid to write. Thoughts of having nothing to say run through my mind. Is there even something meaningful to say?…

Winter sunrise
“The sun will rise and set regardless. What we choose to do with the light while it’s here is up to us. Journey wisely.” Alexandra Elle How can we journey wisely? How can we make the best of our days? I think, it’s this reconnecting to the heart, especially in the morning. It’s like a sunrise in winter, you prepare yourself for the day, for a journey that is in alignment with your heart. ‘What do I want to create? How do I want to feel? How can I connect to myself, to others, to nature?’ Winter is the preparing season, the season of stillness, of recharging the energy. What…

Discovering anew
“Don’t look for peace. Don’t look for any other state than the one you are in now; otherwise, you will set up inner conflict and unconscious resistance. Forgive yourself for not being at peace. The moment you completely accept your non-peace, your non-peace becomes transmuted into peace. Anything you accept fully will get you there, will take you into peace. This is the miracle of surrender” ― Eckhart Tolle What if you can choose to see your world with fresh eyes, from a new perspective every single moment? What if you can discover your world anew, a new way, a new vision without judgment because of your past experiences? What if…

New horizons
“Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return.” ― Leonardo da Vinci I look to the sky and want to take flight, but something is weighing me down. I want to take flight and loosen all the shackles that keeping me on the shore. I want to take flight to fly to new horizons, to leave everything behind that ties me to the past. I look to the sky, spread my arms and feel the spray of the water on my face. I feel how the waves take my feet…

The intention to choose
“The chief beauty about timeis that you cannot waste it in advance. The next year, the next day, the next hour are lying ready for you,as perfect, as unspoiled,as if you had never wasted or misapplieda single moment in all your life. You can turn over a new leaf every hourif you choose.” ― Arnold Bennett This turning of a new leaf makes itself apparent in every sunrise, everything that is untouched like a shore where waves just rolled over or a covering of snow. Imagine you can walk there, into the sunrise, making footprints in the sand or in the snow. Imagine you walk into the light, into a new beginning. We…

The light on your way
“Listen to the inner light; it will guide you. Listen to the inner peace; it will feed you. Listen to the inner love; it will transform you.” -Sri Chinmoy I took these pictures on my forest walks at a time when the days were the shortest, close to winter solstice. They remind me that there is always light. Even if you cannot find it on the outside, you will find it within. The light of your heart will always guide you, will always shine the light on your way. You can find this light when you start to listen, when you experience silence and get away from the outside noise…

Still waters
“The still waters of a lake reflect the beauty around it. When the mind is still, the beauty of the Self is seen reflected in it.” – B.K.S Iyengar The still waters that reflect the setting sun, that wraps the heart into comforting silence. The trees that stand at the shore like a guardian to protect your heart from any harm. Tomorrow, the water will awaken and refresh all that dives into its beauty, but for now the mind is still and the heart can speak in the soft whisper of the swaying branches of the willow tree. The water listens to the silence of the mind and the voice of…

Birch tree of hope
Birch trees remind us of hope and new beginnings. They are one of the first trees which start to regrow their leaves in spring. They regrow in areas where was destruction. They have the ability to grow in places where it’s hard to survive. Birch trees remind me with their white bark of a blank canvas, of new possibilities to create, a fresh start. The birch tree is a symbol of rebirth, of new beginnings after the depths of winter, and although we are still in the midst of winter season, these trees radiate a sense of hope for light, of hope for the joy of spring. Birch trees are…
